Senior ADAS Systems Engineer

Location: Coventry West Midlands

Department: Electrification

An experienced engineer, possibly looking for career progression to a senior engineer position, is required to lead the development of new vehicle features, primarily in the field of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), from feature concept to vehicle sign-off. The candidate will work within a core team on behalf of OEM customers to deliver features on future vehicle programmes, covering a broad spectrum of engineering activities across the entire development cycle.

Your Responsibilities:
• The role will require a technical lead for customer projects relating to the design and or validation of vehicle electronic features. This will include the following key activities:
• Lead the definition of key vehicle or system use cases
• Lead the definition and documentation of system requirements
• Lead the creation of system architectures, including definition of any new network messages
• Lead the quality and robustness activities (e.g. FMEA)
• Engage with suppliers to understand hardware attributes
• Engage with different design departments to identify attributes conflicts and to support attributes trade-off
• Lead the development of test plans for the feature
• Lead feature testing, through software-in-loop, hardware-in-loop, labcar and/or vehicle testing as required by the project
• Report technical status of projects to relevant management
Your Profile:
• Essential:
• Minimum BSc or BEng (2:1) in Automotive, Electrical or equivalent Engineering
• Solifd and relevant engineering experience (ideally Systems Engineering)
• Experience of FMA activities, ideally leading
• Experience of defining and cascading system requirements
• Good communication skills
• Proficient in office tools (e.g. Word, Excel).
• Good communication skills
• Preferable:
• A working knowledge of vehicle messaging and architectures
• Experience with Vector tools (e.g. CANalyzer, CANape) or equivalent
• Experience of MATLAB/Simulink
• Project Management
• The candidate will need to be adaptable in order to support other project work within the Electrical department as necessary.
