In this section we give an insight into how to tackle interviews, and hear first-hand from some of our recent candidates about how we’ve been able to help them.
Interviews can be a daunting prospect, particularly for candidates looking to secure their first position. At Contechs we know exactly what our clients are looking for when they host an interview, and how candidates can best prepare themselves and make a good impression on the day.
Here are few basic tips that can help you improve your prospects at an interview.
Before your interview, find out everything you can about the company. You should try to anticipate the general questions you might be asked, and also prepare some questions to ask them.
To do well at an interview you need to convince the interviewer that you are qualified for the job. You also need to show that you have the motivation to do the job to the best of your abilities.
First impressions are important. Remember to dress smartly for an interview and to give yourself plenty of time to get to the venue – you don’t want any delays on your journey to cause problems. Be courteous to everyone you meet from the company, not just those taking part in the interview session.
At the interview itself, you must be positive about yourself and your abilities. Let the interviewers talk, but remember to speak up for yourself as well. Let your passion for the position you being interviewed for shine through.
And relax! Interviews may be daunting, but remember that the interviewer was probably in your shoes at some stage in their career.
